Carmen is a dynamic leadership facilitator with two nationwide programs: the Parent Leadership Training Institute (PLTI) and YouthBuild USA. 

Carmen’s leadership and deep commitment to advancing her hometown community of Bridgeport have been lauded and awarded across Connecticut in such diverse settings as the Women’s Campaign School at Yale, Connecticut General Assembly, and the Hispanic Leadership Academy.

Wanting to amplify the good community work she sees up close every day, Carmen has created and hosts a live TV broadcast, “Connecticut At Your Service” on Sound View TV.

Often called upon to advocate for causes near and dear to her heart, she has been a featured speaker in many spaces. She’s never met a room she couldn’t fill with her positive energy, engaging style, and ability to instantly make everyone laugh, feel seen, and feel welcome…in two languages. All of this work would not be possible without the love of her beloved family – husband Victor, three amazing daughters, and five grandchildren.
